Okay, I admit that I have been talking about a New Year’s resolution for the last 2 – 3 weeks. I talk all about it with all people I know during breakfast, break time, dinner time and whenever I have a chance to do so. Maybe because I sometimes run out of good conversation’s materials. Maybe because it has become one of unwriten traditions to wrap up the end of the year, and to start the New Year with some new, fresh and advantageous concepts.
I also realize that a New Year’s resolution is in fact a commitment that I’ll make to a project or the reforming of my (bad) habits, often my lifestyle change (for the better one!). Some of well known resolutions include donating to the poor more often, helping the misunfortune, losing weight or becoming more environmentally responsible. Saving the world sounds a little bit too ambitious though, or shall I let Miss Universe candidates to achieve that goal (or at least, say it in front of the jury)?
To be very honest that summing my own New Years resolutions is a lot easier than figuring out whether I’ll actually have the ability to keep and achieve them, but I’ll try anyway. These are my New Year’s resolutions:
1. Gaining weight (it is also this year resolutions that I haven’t been able to achieve): Unlike some people who actually try to lose some weight, I have been trying to gain it since I was 18 years old. Sometimes you ask your relatives: “Have you eaten yet?” Well, some of mine often ask me: “Do you eat?” Yes, I do but I do not seem to have the ability to gain my weight no matter what I eat.
2. Paying more attention to my relatives, especially my grandfather: You see, my grandfather is very sweet, kind and gentle, and I love him so much for it. I just don’t do well in showing it due to one of his hobbies. He loves writing and sending me a lot of his religious letters. To me, a religion is something that’s very private. It’s something between my creator and myself, and I certainly do not have the need reading/hearing all about it from another human being. Nevertheless, I intend to pay some more attention to him because he simply deserves it, regardless.
3. Volunteering at local animal shelters: I love animals. Any kind of animals, especially cats. There are so many animal shelters that need help and support, and I am very sure that my contribution will be appriciated.
4. Exercise more: I do love sport, as long as I don’t get sweat while and after doing it! Let’s get serious, I live on the 3rd floor and I use the stairs for doing exercise by running from up and down, as often as possible. It works just fine but I need to do more exercise though.
5. Becoming less grumpy: Well, I am cute and all that
but I’ll have to admit that I am not a very patient person, which makes me a little bit grumpy when something doesn’t go my way or doesn’t go within my time limit (auch ….!). Next year, I’ll try to be more relaxed and who knows that I’ll become a patient person that’s also less grumpy!
I think that 5 major resolutions are just about enough for now. What are your New Year’s Resolutions?
